GOOGLE ADS

Google ads put your website in front of customers on Google Search and Google Maps when they search for a business, product or service like yours. You only pay for results, which means you only pay when someone clicks the link to your website or calls your business directly from the advert.

While Amazon is eating into Google’s dominance, Google Ads currently accounts for 73% of global digital advertising revenue and 70.9% of Google’s own revenue. That’s why we’ve mastered Google ads. Full stop.

WHY GOOGLE ADS

No two campaigns are exactly alike. In fact, there are five distinct types of Google Ads: search network, display network, shopping campaigns, video campaigns and app campaigns and each has its own benefit and use depending on the product or service.

However, the biggest benefit of using Google Ads over other types of digital marketing is that you are attracting a captive audience.

They are already searching for your products or services by putting in keywords that match your campaigns. When they do, your adverts are shown to them within a bidding system.

TARGETING

Targeting your ads is an essential part of running a successful Google Ads campaign.

While an advert may ‘look’ perfect, unless it’s correctly targeted you won’t attract the right audience and you’ll waste your budget. There are different ways of targeting your ads, but the overall aim is to reach your ideal audience at the lowest cost.

Targeting is a crucial element of being successful with digital ads. Firstly, we identify the interests, needs, behaviours and goals of your audience which then allows us to identify who the audience is for a particular campaign or ad group.

REACH

Google Ads reach is an estimate of the number of people within a location, based on signed-in users. This data allows us to get a rough idea of how many people your ads might reach within a geographic area.

Once we have this figure, we can then start to think about your ads budget based up what your competitors are doing – yes, we can see that – and how good your margins are on each product or service.

The whole idea is to ensure that the return on your ad spend is large enough to make you a decent profit. This relies on the number of potential customers, so studying the reach from the outset is extremely important.

BUDGET

With Google Ads you can set your budget for each ad you run - and you can change it whenever you want. However, the most crucial element is not the budget, but the gathering and optimising of data to ensure that any budget used is working highly efficiently.

This is why we run multiple campaigns with A/B testing to find the ads that perform the best. Once an ad is performing really well we look to increase results by increasing ad spend.

However, if it's underachieving, we will reduce ad spend or stop it altogether. This is how we increase your return on ad spend, known as ROAS.
